After several months working as a Junior AI Developer/Writer at Scribe of AI, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my time here and share my experiences.
So, was it what I expected?
To be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Before joining, I knew I’d be working on AI-related content, but I didn’t have a clear picture of how my role would unfold. However, this uncertainty quickly turned into excitement. From the very beginning, the remote nature of the job and the variety of tasks made the experience far more dynamic and engaging than I initially thought it would be.
Working remotely gave me flexibility, but it also required discipline. There was no office chatter, no physical team meetings, and no traditional work hours. It felt strange at first, but I soon appreciated the freedom it gave me to manage my own schedule. I wasn’t tied to a 9-to-5 routine, which allowed me to find my own rhythm and work when I was at my most productive.
What did I learn?
A lot actually. My role involved both technical work and content creation, which kept things interesting. I worked on a wide range of AI topics, mostly in computer vision, which is something I found really fascinating. From writing technical guides to hands-on coding kept me on my toes and allowed me to dive into areas of AI I hadn’t explored before.
The biggest takeaway for me has been learning how to break down complex topics and make them understandable for different audiences. This wasn’t just about understanding AI models or writing code; it was about communication. I learned how to balance technical depth with clarity, and that’s something I’ll carry with me moving forward.
A typical day?
Well, there wasn’t really a “typical” day, and that’s part of what I liked about this role. Some days I was deep in research, learning about new AI techniques or working on code. Other days, I was writing and editing content. Independence was one of the best aspects of the job. I was trusted to manage my own projects and deadlines, which made me feel like I had ownership of my work.
There were, of course, times where I had to collaborate with the team, even if it was all virtual. Feedback was always constructive, and I found myself improving with each piece of content I worked on. The balance of working independently while still having a support system was ideal.
What did I enjoy most?
I’d say the flexibility and the variety. Being able to set my own hours and work from anywhere was such a huge plus. I also enjoyed how hands-on the work was. I wasn’t just reading about AI, I was applying it, whether through writing or coding. That practical experience made everything feel more real and less like a theoretical exercise.
As for what I found challenging, it would probably be the self-discipline needed to stay on top of things in a remote job. Without the structure of a traditional office, you have to hold yourself accountable, and that took some getting used to.
Final thoughts
Looking back, my time at Scribe of AI has been incredibly rewarding. The role pushed me to grow, both in terms of my technical skills and my ability to communicate complex ideas. It’s been an experience that’s not only deepened my understanding of AI but also given me valuable insights into remote work and independent project management.
For anyone considering joining Scribe of AI, I’d say go for it. You’ll get the chance to work on interesting projects, learn a lot, and enjoy the flexibility that comes with working remotely. It’s a place where you can grow and be trusted to take charge of your own learning and development.
As I move on to the next phase of my career, I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned here and excited to see where these skills will take me next.
